
This course is designed to enable students to critically analyze the principles and practices of Process Safety Management (PSM) in the context of process industries. Knowledge of international and Malaysia initiatives related to managing major hazards will be covered. The topics also cover related legislations and directives, risk management models, 14 elements of PSM as well as a Qualitative Risk Analysis (QRA). Upon completing the course, students will be equipped to contribute effectively to the management of process safety in industrial settings. They will be able to identify and profile risks, ensuring the safe design and operation of process plants, in line with established safety standards.
